The New York Film Academy was founded on the philosophy that “learning by doing” combined with best industry practices is more valuable than years of theoretical study. This educational model allows students to achieve more in two years then at any other film or acting school in the world.

NYFA’s accelerated two-year programs are structured for film and acting students who want hands-on, intensive training from award winning faculty using professional facilities and equipment before they begin their career in the motion picture industry.

Our no non-sense approach has received acclaim from Hollywood filmmakers including directors Steven Spielberg and Peter Bogdonavich, and actors Susan Sarandon, Kevin Kline, Pierce Brosnan; all of which have sent their son or daughter to our school.  

MFA DEGREE

The Master of Fine Arts in Filmmaking is an accelerated, four or five semester graduate program. It offers qualified students a full course of production and study, including the opportunity to direct a feature length film as a thesis project.

AFA DEGREE

Intensive two-year programs are designed for degree seeking students who want to devote themselves to learning and practicing their profession in a hands-on conservatory style program. The intensive curriculum will challenge, inspire, and prepare candidates for professional work in the motion picture industry.

BACHELORS DEGREE

Our rolling admissions policy allows you to start film school at the New York Film Academy and start earning credits towards your bachelors.
